IL BORGO E IL SUO CASTELLO. SANT’ANGELO A FASANELLA: CONOSCENZA E PROSPETTIVE DI INTERVENTO
Abstract
Sant'Angelo a Fasanella is a small village in the province of Salerno, located on a limestone hill at the foot of the Alburni mountains. Almost in the center of the modern city and on the edge of the older one, stands its castle, an interesting example of fortified architecture. The didactic experimentation in progress, carried out in the context of an agreement between the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno and the Municipality of Sant'Angelo a Fasanella, aimed to deepen the knowledge of the place and to identify a methodology for the restoration and enhancement of architectural emergencies, starting from the castle, the first case study on which the first results of the research were produced. In fact, thinking about a new use of places and the restoration of architecture becomes essential to guarantee the protection of a built heritage with a strong identity and the transmission of its values.
